Daria Kopiec won Konrad’s Laurel

Daria Kopiec, director of the performance “Zakonnice odchodzą po cichu” from the Teatr im. Kochanowski in Opole on the basis of Marta Abramowicz’s book received Konrad’s Laurel – Main Prize of the 19th National Festival of Directing Art “Interpretations” Katowice 2018. The following jurors voted for the director: Ewa Braun, Anda Rottenberg and Piotr Cieplak.

The other jurors – Krzysztof Majchrzak and Olo Walicki – gave their votes to the play “Reykjavik’74” by Marta Sokołowska directed by Katarzyna Kalwat from the Teatr im. Horzyca in Torun (every juror had 10,000 zlotys at their disposal).

Performance by Daria Kopiec also chose the audience. This means that the director also received the Award of the Marshal of the Silesian Voivodship (PLN 10,000). Daria Kopiec, for directing also received an award from journalists.

The award for the best competition radio play went to Julia Mark for directing the play “Uprawa roślin południowych metodą Miczurina” by Weronika Murek. This was decided by a separate jury composed of: Ingmar Villqist, Janusz Kukuła and Janusz Łastowiecki (one joint prize – PLN 10,000).

The award for the best competition TV show went to Michał Szcześniak for directing Robert Urbański’s “Porwać się na życie”. This was decided by a separate jury composed of: Ingmar Villqist, Krystyna Doktorowicz and Wojciech Majcherek (one joint prize – PLN 10,000).

The acting prize of Dziennik Teatralny was also awarded. The editor-in-chief of the vortal, Ryszard Klimczak, gave it to Justyna Wasilewska for his role in the play “Puppenhaus. Kuracja “dir. Jędrzej Piaskowski from TR Warszawa.
